Who I am and why I'm an interior designer. DESIGNING THOUGHTFUL & FUNCTIONAL SPACES. A multidisciplinary interior designer with a wealth of product knowledge and creative flair. Qualifications & Memberships: Assoc. Degree Interior Design: Commercial Member Design Institute of Australia Member Next Collective (Art Gallery of WA) I find beauty in a thoughtfully composed space, whether it be inside or out, but discover the real success of a design is in the experience of it. In my work the user experience is the first aspect I consider and guides me through the entire design process. From residential renovations and home makeovers, to multi-million dollar disability services projects, my mission is always the same; to create a functional space that feels good to be in. I’ve been passionate about interior design since I was a little girl accompanying my architect father to projects. I would stand on a newly poured slab and envision my ideal layout and final finish. I have worked in a number of support roles in the building industry over the past 20 years and in 2019 completed an Associate Degree of Interior Design; Commercial with Billy Blue College of Design at Torrens University. I have since been privileged to work as lead interior designer on a number of residential and commercial projects specifically in the disability sector. Over the years I’ve learned interpreting plans and visualising a fully finished space isn’t something everyone loves to do. I focus on understanding my clients’ interior design intentions and finding the most effective ways to communicate the vision in a straightforward, informative and easy to grasp manner so we both have the same expectations. I invite you to check out some of my work in my portfolio and keep checking in to see more. PORTFOLIO

  • Apartment 15 | Natalie Rumble

RESIDENTIAL | RENOVATION Apartment 15 A CLASSIC MAKEOVER My clients in Apartment 15 purchased their sixth floor coastal sub-penthouse apartment off the plan as a downsizing exercise. After moving in, they wanted to personalise their new home and to relate all of their beautiful artworks and antique furniture pieces into the space. We modified the kitchen to achieve more bench space in and redesigned the cabinetry to have a more classic style. Decorative speckled warm white finger tiles created more interest in the splash back and a timber bench spanning the length of the island provided space for wine cabinets and oak and tan leather stools. Decorative beading was added to feature walls and all walls were painted in a beautiful warm neutral colour. A blue grey softened the primary bedroom walls while some sex appeal was added to internal doors with beading detail, all painted in a rich charcoal and adorned new brushed brass hardware. New shutters and the addition of two internal windows have brought more light into the home and offer more functionality for my clients. This project was an absolute pleasure thanks to my clients and the expert work from Collins Bros Contracting, Shepherd Craft Furniture and Quokka Painting & Decorating.

  • Outram & Hay Office | Natalie Rumble

COMMERCIAL | WORKPLACE Outram & Hay Office HUMAN-CENTRED OFFICE DESIGN This office space used to be a bank. With two entries, a big column smack-bang in the middle of key circulation space, and some existing glazed partitions, the brief was to create a workstation hub, a formal meeting room for 10 people, an executive office space and a relaxed break out area to be versatile enough to accommodate staff social interactions as well as less formal client meetings. Client areas are identified by a change of carpet colour. Acoustic panels provide staff privacy and noise reduction in the open plan workstation hub. 3D images of the interior design intention helped my clients understand the intention and work out where the priorities were for them.

  • Pre-Construction/Pre-Start Consultation | Natalie Rumble

It can be a real money saver to have the project finishes, fittings and furnishings selected during the planning stage of a project. • Rocky Bay Sicily Rise | Natalie Rumble

COMMERCIAL | DISABILITY Rocky Bay Sicily Rise AN OPPORTUNITY FOR INDEPENDENCE Rocky Bay is a Leading Provider of Disability Services to thousands of people in Perth WA, helping West Australians discover abilities since 1938. This $1.75m share house project will provide a handful of West Australians with an independent lifestyle in a community designed to support and encourage them. The possibilities are endless when we’re surrounded by people who makes us feel safe and included. Rocky Bay don’t rent rooms, they create homes. By creating a point of difference between each unit, the residents are provided with a sense of individualism and uniqueness. All three units feature a different colour timber accent, en suite feature tile, feature wall paint colour and cabinetry. Each unit is designed to support Rocky Bay clients living with disability, but not defined by it. With domestic materials and finishes used throughout the schemes, the project feels more like home than a supported care facility. Independence is encouraged through the design with motorised adjustable bench tops, blinds and doors to allow the residents to utilise their home as much as possible. With three units and a carers' quarters included in this project, it was important to create three different interior design schemes which all had a relationship to one another.
