  • Cheyne Walk | Natalie Rumble

RESIDENTIAL | EXTENSION & RENOVATION Cheyne Walk A TREE TOP DREAM HOME My Cheyne Walk clients are an active professional couple with two school aged children and a friendly Staffy dog. Their red brick house was built in the 1970s on the south corner of a leafy riverside cul-de-sac. These days the street is abuzz with kids playing between one another’s homes and local residents taking advantage of the surrounding amenities. With a desire to create their ideal home, my clients engaged myself and architect, Alec Whyte of Parry + Whyte Architects to design an extension of the floor plan to give themselves more living space and a pool to utilise the generous block size. They wanted to change the interior and exterior aesthetics of the home and allow more natural light in to brighten their living experience and modernise the 50 year old home. Both clients are drawn to the contemporary and find luxury is best delivered in understated subtleties. Their primary aesthetic objective was to preserve sections of red brick to feature in the new design and introduce complementary materials of concrete and timber. Colourful and textural accents create interest in furniture and fittings, with design elements forming striking silhouettes in pendant lighting and floor to ceiling internal door frames. They wanted their home to be comfortable and relaxed, to accommodate any number of neighbourhood kids at any given time, and to easily be all together enjoying family time or retreat to their own spaces. • Accessible & Inclusive Design | Natalie Rumble

Designing for disability support organisations such as Multiple Sclerosis WA. Back to Services Accessible & Inclusive Design Disability, Dementia and Aged Care Design The work I have done in the disability sector is my proudest and seems to be the most impactful. The brief is usually to create a space that is accessible without it feeling sterile and institutional and allow high care residents or differently abled people to feel at home and it is a challenge I thoroughly enjoy. I push suppliers to develop accessible and inclusive products which would fit into mainstream design and I hope one day the industry makes many options available to accessible designs. The best feedback I receive is that which tells me I've made their lives better by optimising the experience of a space; whether they get more enjoyment out of the aesthetic design; or can manoeuvre through a space with ease; or can access and utilise more within that space. Perhaps overlooked in many designs, I believe accessible and inclusive design is not just for specialist facilities, but should be considered for every building. If you're planning to build your forever home, for example, it is important to consider that as you age, things change and challenges arise. Simply choosing certain finishes or increasing a doorway size can future-proof your home. Or if you're creating a hospitality or retail space, your customers will appreciate a smooth integration of accessible design. View more projects

  • Northern Suburbs Renovation | Natalie Rumble

RESIDENTIAL | RENOVATION Northern Suburbs Renovation MORE SPACE, MORE FUN My Northern Suburbs client purchased a 4 bedroom, 1 bathroom home and immediately went about knocking out a wall to join two separate living areas, extending the home to include an additional bathroom and merging two bedrooms into an open plan master and en suite retreat. The open plan nature of the space meant there were a few different kitchen island configurations possible. There was also the challenge of squeezing in a large rectangular 10 seater dining table. The combining of rooms required some nifty cabinetry designs. The interior concepts were modelled and presented in photorealistic 3D images.

  • Chatsworth Road | Natalie Rumble

RESIDENTIAL | FURNITURE Chatsworth Road INNER-CITY AUSTRALIAN ARCHITECTURE Chatsworth Road in Perth's inner-city suburb of Highgate is a beautiful example of Australian architecture with the original home extended through the rear elevation by award winning Chindarsi Architects. It was easy to decide the furniture brief needed to centred around highlighting the unique, modern and considered design of the home while referencing the traditional character of the early 1900s design of the original home. In collaboration with Loam, the interior furnishings made this home a standout on the real estate market and showcased how premium this home really is. View a similar furnishings project

  • West Perth Townhouse | Natalie Rumble

Furnished for sale, this home is a beautiful example of modern Australian architecture. RESIDENTIAL | FURNITURE West Perth Townhouse MODERN AUSTRALIAN ARCHITECTURE In the suburban heart of West Perth is this beautiful two bedroom, two and half bathroom architecturally designed home with high ceilings and leafy outlooks. Sound like a sales pitch..? Well it is! I had the pleasure of styling and staging this home ready for sale. My clients are the home owners, one of which happens to be the architect, Paul Rumble and who also happens to be my dad. They wanted the home to feel light, bright, warm and colourful in keeping with the modern Australian style of architecture. The open plan living area on the ground floor was separated into lounge and dining using rugs to demarcate each. Blues were brought in as informed by the blue steel feature pergola over the street-facing courtyard and complemented with pink, orange and rust accents and light oak timber furniture. Artworks create interest throughout the home and inject some vibrancy while textured rugs, cushions and throws add colour and warmth. Upstairs is open and bright with plenty of natural light and cathedral-esque ceilings. The study space is a versatile area of the home which can be converted into a third bedroom or used as another TV room. The pieces selected for this area were intended to highlight the flexibility this space offers. The primary bedroom was styled in soft green linens in reference to the leafy outlook from its windows. 'Casual and comfortable' was the brief for this room. The second bedroom achieves a more youthful aesthetic with calmer tones in navy blue and rust linens. View a similar furnishings project
